I was fully prepared to rate this book with a zero or 1 star but the ending allowed me to up it to two。 I’m impressed that I actually finished it and am glad I did。 If the last quarter of the book had been the majority of the book I would have loved this。 But given that 3/4ths of it was basically reading about animal abuse, I almost couldn’t make it through to the redeeming portions at the end。I personally don’t fully understand how books like this are considered “classics。” Maybe if I had studi I was fully prepared to rate this book with a zero or 1 star but the ending allowed me to up it to two。 I’m impressed that I actually finished it and am glad I did。 If the last quarter of the book had been the majority of the book I would have loved this。 But given that 3/4ths of it was basically reading about animal abuse, I almost couldn’t make it through to the redeeming portions at the end。I personally don’t fully understand how books like this are considered “classics。” Maybe if I had studied it in school I would feel differently。 As is, I feel like I could have gone my whole life not having read this without regret。 。。。more

6/10 - For younger readers, but I still found this immersive as an adult and I enjoyed it。 IMO much better than his other work。

I really loved listening to this book。 London was masterful at describing the inner logic of White Fang。

I think if I could I'd give it 3。5。。。I enjoyed the book but not as much as 'Call of the Wild' by the same author and similar genre。 I was reading an epub edition from Google play but there were quite a few typos which was distracting。 I think if I could I'd give it 3。5。。。I enjoyed the book but not as much as 'Call of the Wild' by the same author and similar genre。 I was reading an epub edition from Google play but there were quite a few typos which was distracting。 。。。more

Just a captivating story that draws you in from beginning to end。 London does a great job of trying to capture life from the eyes of a young wolf pup as he goes from one master to another。 It also examines the heart behind obedience and loyalty。

Assolutamente sì。 A chi? A chi sente di leggere una storia nuova, osservata da un nuovo punto di vista。 E soprattutto a chi ama gli animali e a chi vorrebbe conoscere cosa c'è dietro all'onore e al rispetto delle usanze animalesche。 。。。more

A compelling tale of a wolf in the wild that appears to follow the arc of the hero's journey。 The tale itself is compelling, but the animal cruelty and racism are not。 If you can tolerate an older text that has words like "the superior white gods" to refer to white people within it and entire arcs with animal cruelty as a major part of them then you will find a heroic tale of a wolf forged by circumstance into a legendary survivor of a thousand trials forced upon him by nature。 A compelling tale of a wolf in the wild that appears to follow the arc of the hero's journey。 The tale itself is compelling, but the animal cruelty and racism are not。 If you can tolerate an older text that has words like "the superior white gods" to refer to white people within it and entire arcs with animal cruelty as a major part of them then you will find a heroic tale of a wolf forged by circumstance into a legendary survivor of a thousand trials forced upon him by nature。 。。。more

This is my first time reading Jack London。 I acquired the audiobook through my Audible membership and thought I would give it a try。 As a lover of animals and nature, I suspected I would appreciate London’s work。 I was a bit apprehensive as the description mentioned White Fang’s cruel owners。 (One thing that seriously turns my stomach is animal abuse。) While reading about the abuse White Fang endured hurt my heart immensely, it also made my love for him grow。 I was anxious and hopeful he would f This is my first time reading Jack London。 I acquired the audiobook through my Audible membership and thought I would give it a try。 As a lover of animals and nature, I suspected I would appreciate London’s work。 I was a bit apprehensive as the description mentioned White Fang’s cruel owners。 (One thing that seriously turns my stomach is animal abuse。) While reading about the abuse White Fang endured hurt my heart immensely, it also made my love for him grow。 I was anxious and hopeful he would find a human that would love him dearly and treat him the way he deserved。 This is an incredible story of endurance and perseverance; I loved it from beginning to end。 。。。more
